Cabinet Latch Shim Kit (1–5 mm)

Fix a cabinet catch that almost lines up, without replacing the hardware or improvising with loose washers.

This universal cabinet-latch shim kit lets you move a catch or latch forward in precise increments. Long mounting slots fit a range of screw spacing, and the four included thicknesses can be used individually or stacked. Every shim has a center-relief opening for clearance around catches with a raised center section.

COMPATIBILITY

Designed for many magnetic and mechanical cabinet catches, cupboard and closet catches, light-duty RV and camper cabinet hardware, retrofit latch installs, and workshop, utility-cabinet and furniture repairs. The 4.8 mm slots clear many common cabinet-hardware screws, including M4 and similar fasteners.

Latch bodies, screw heads and mounting patterns vary, so compare all measurements with your hardware before ordering.

HOW TO CHOOSE A THICKNESS

Measure how far the catch needs to move forward, then select or stack shims to match. Any whole-millimeter adjustment from 1 to 11 mm can be built from the included sizes.

INSTALLATION

1. Remove the existing catch or latch.
2. Measure the alignment difference.
3. Select the required thickness or combination of shims.
4. Position the shim behind the hardware.
5. Loosely install the screws through the mounting slots.
6. Adjust the catch, test the door and tighten the screws.

If the original screws are too short after adding shims, replace them with longer screws of the same type and diameter.

IMPORTANT FIT NOTES

• Measure before ordering. "Universal" refers to the adjustable slot design and doesn't guarantee compatibility with every latch
• Confirm the latch base is adequately supported around the relief opening
• Confirm your screw heads are wide enough to cover the 4.8 mm slots
• Do not overtighten mounting screws
• For cabinet catches and other light-duty hardware only; not for entry-door locks, structural hardware or safety-critical uses
• These shims align RV cabinet hardware but don't increase the latch's holding strength
• Slight layer lines and minor surface variations are normal for a 3D-printed product

Clean with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid open flame, harsh solvents and high heat.

Q: How many shims are included?

A: Eight: two each in 1, 2, 3 and 5 mm thicknesses.

Q: Are all the shims center relief?

A: Yes. Every shim has a 22 × 8 mm (0.87 × 0.31 in) center-relief opening.

Q: Are screws included?

A: No. The kit includes the eight shims only.

Q: Can I shorten the shims?

A: Shallow guides show where the ends can be trimmed. Use a fine-tooth tool and support the part while cutting.

Q: Can these be used in an RV?

A: They help align light-duty RV cabinet hardware. They don't increase latch strength or make an unsuitable latch safe for travel.

Q: Are these injection molded?

A: No. They're 3D printed, so subtle layer lines and minor cosmetic variations are normal.
